Student Expectations & Handbook

Students will be celebrated and affirmed monthly for their progress in meeting/exceeding metrics. Students will be celebrated weekly with spirit wear privileges as a SQUAD for attendance goals.

Yes, all spotlighted student-facing metrics are advertised in the Messmer PRIDE Google calendar and all students will have access to it. While all metrics are important, it is important to focus on one monthly to provide space for definite wins.

Attendance is a priority. We cannot teach students who are not present or chronically tardy. We understand that emergencies will happen occasionally. However, families must problem-solve and determine a way to ensure Bishops are at school regularly, as in 95% of the time, to hit the expected metric.   

Please monitor PowerSchool for grades and Kickboard for disciplinarian matters weekly. Messmer teachers and administrators will continuously input grades, demerits, merits, and other communication entries. Teachers are available via email if you ever have questions about assignments, progress, etc.

Yes, our administrative team will notify you via email if your Bishop is not meeting two or more of the student-facing metrics. Administrative reviews will take place after the first quarter, winterM, and third quarter. Students in danger of not meeting the metric will be placed on academic/behavioral probation mid-semester with an expectation of improvement by the end of the semester/WinterM.

Students who do not show progress after the probation will lose their seats at Messmer after the upcoming semester. Parents and students will be notified of this unfortunate situation and will need to find a new school for the upcoming semester or school year if it’s the spring semester.
