We are thrilled to celebrate the achievements of Messmer High School junior Damyan, who was recently selected for the Milwaukee Art Museum’s (MAM) prestigious Satellite Internship Program.

Every October, the entire Messmer student body pauses their usual routines for one of the most anticipated events of the year: our annual fall retreats. These formative experiences are a highlight for students and faculty alike, creating powerful memories and providing essential time for reflection, growth, and community building.

The deep, personal impact of the retreat is clear in students’ own words:

"Being able to have that time with God and myself really did something to my heart. It showed me that I have a lovely support system by my side and that I can do all things through faith and God."

At Messmer, the spirit of community and support shines brightly, especially through the work of Messmer’s Student Ambassadors. Our ambassadors are often the first friendly faces future students encounter.

“Messmer was a turning point in my education,” says Sasha Haynes (née Williams) ’04. Haynes currently serves as Principal at Milwaukee College Prep’s 36th Street campus, where she works every day to inspire students to see their own potential. 

Students with a strong interest in pursuing a profession in the trades recently had the opportunity to network with working professionals. 

This year, NHS welcomed nine new members, joining 11 returning students.

Messmer High School has been recognized by the Milwaukee Business Journal as a 2025 Best Place to Work.

This award reflects the strength of our school community and the positive culture built by our dedicated faculty and staff. The recognition is based on an independent survey which measures how employees feel about being valued, supported, and aligned with their organization’s mission.
