Messmer High School opened its centennial year with a jubilant Mass of Thanksgiving at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist on September 18.
Archbishop Jeffrey Grob presided at the Mass, concelebrated with Archbishop Emeritus Jerome Listecki, Auxiliary Bishop Jeffrey Haines, the Very Rev. Timothy Kitzke, Rev. Robert Anello, MHS ’70, Rev. Chakrit Micaphitak, CSsR, and Deacon Joe Wenzler.
The liturgy was filled with prayer and song, as the combined Gospel choirs of Messmer, Marquette University, and All Saints Catholic Church lifted their voices in glorious harmony. Their music filled the cathedral with joy and praise, setting a beautiful tone for Messmer’s yearlong celebration of 100 years of Catholic education, community, and faith.
