Clubs and Activities

Book Club fosters a love of reading and friendship during the 2025-26 school year. Students will choose a collection of reading to highlight and celebrate their experiences. 

Baking Club a student group that fosters a fun and friendly environment to learn, practice, and share baking skills, recipes, and techniques while exploring career pathways in baking and pastry arts. Members engage in activities such as creating various baked goods, experimenting with new recipes and culinary themes, and developing important life skills like creativity, teamwork, kitchen safety, and time management. The club also serves as a social outlet for students with shared interests, offering opportunities to build friendships and positively impact the school and community through activities like bake sales.

Basketball Club welcomes both those who have the ambition to play basketball professionally, and those who play the sport for pleasure. The most important principle of our school’s basketball club is that it treats everyone the same, regardless of their talent and potential, providing them with the same training that teaches basic basketball skills, as well as more advanced ones, for those who choose so.

Best Man-Self Club offers a space for Messmer High young men to show up and their authentic selves and evolve to be your BEST man-self for the 2025-26 school! Engage in small group activities, hear from community leaders, and lean in to critical conversations about manhood, growth, and leadership! 

Black Girl Magic club offers a safe, supportive space for Black girls to connect, celebrate their identities, and explore issues relevant to their lives. It provides a platform for open discussions, creative expression, and building a strong community, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment.

Black Student Union (BSU) Club exists to help all students develop in mind, body, and spirit for service to Christ in the Church and the World. We do this by intentionally setting up a support system allowing students space to learn, teach, give back to the community, be challenged, and get their cultural needs met.

Join cheer club where spirit comes to life! We're all about school spirit, friendship, fun, and self confidence. Building confidence, coordination, and teamwork. Cheer loud, smile big, and make memories. 

Players of all levels are welcome to attend, you can be a complete beginner or national master! Come join our club to become a strategic mastermind by way of chess. We play everything from classic chess to exciting variants likes 2v2 bughouse or duck chess.

Watch movies, read comics, and talk about your favorite comic book heroes. DC or Marvel, everyone is welcome!

Learn how to cook new foods and explore different cultures through flavor! Taste-testing is encouraged!

Culture Club's mission is to PROMOTE school culture, CELEBRATE student choices and accomplishments, LEARN about new cultures and languages, and SUPPORT school cultural projects and Messmer specific programming and expectations. 

Bring in your own sneakers and apparel to Custom Kicks Club. We will explore painting, material prep, and deconstruction techniques to transform your items into wearable artwork.

Debate Club is an intellectually stimulating club that helps develop critical thinking, public speaking, and persuasive writing skills. We'll engage in rigorous discussions on a wide range of topics, from social issues to current events while learning the art of constructing effective arguments and rebuttals.

Fantasy Sports Club is a place for students to create and participate in fantasy sports leagues together, share background information on players, and give feedback on each other’s teams.

Film & Theater Club is an open creative space for people to create, write, perform, direct any personal or prompted projects, such as develop short films and plays throughout the semester.

Forensics Club is an organization for students interested in public speaking, acting, and competitive debate. In forensics competitions, students choose from a wide range of events, from solo and group acting to extemporaneous and informative speaking. Our team provides a welcoming, high-energy environment for students to develop their confidence, communication skills, and critical-thinking abilities. Whether you are a seasoned competitor or new to the stage, join us for a fun and rewarding season of performance and persuasion! 

This club is about connecting with nature in new ways. Gardening is so much more than growing flowers! It's about connecting with God by spending time in Creation! Join us as we learn to love the beautiful world God has given us!

Are you interested in learning some guitar chords and strumming? In Guitar club, students will learn how to play a guitar with the potential to develop their singing skills.

Dance Club emphasizes exploration of diverse dance styles like jazz, ballet, modern, and hip-hop, focusing on skill-building through warm-ups, technique practice, and learning choreography. Dance Club fosters teamwork, discipline, and creativity, allowing Bishops to develop improvisation and choreography skills, regardless of prior experience.

KPOP Club  provides a fun, supportive community for students to celebrate Korean Pop music and culture through activities like watching music videos, learning choreographed dances, playing games, trading merchandise, and exploring Korean culture, language, and media. This club fosters friendships, a break from academics, and allow members to develop social skills and creative expression. 

Latinos Unidos Club is all about inclusivity, and we welcome everyone to join our events! Whether you want to celebrate holidays like Día de los Muertos with us or help out with our famous churro sale, we've got a place for you.

Our goal is to build a fun, strong community where students can learn about and appreciate Latino traditions. Our club leadership believes that the more people who participate, the more vibrant our school becomes. So come on over—everyone is welcome!

The club's mission is to expand access to weightlifting and education, and offering a platform for personal transformation. This club encourages students to take ownership of their physical health and learn how to properly weight lift.

Is it MJ or Lebron? Or dare one say Kobe? Join the Who's the GOAT Club to make your best argument of the greatest basketball players of all time. We'll discuss different categories such as great point guard, or greatest big man to determine who's on top. Bring your stats and highlights!

The MHS Wrestling Club is centered around growing the sport of wrestling. Club meetings are challenging and focused on preparing wrestlers (girls and boys) for the next level in their wrestling career, be it high school or collegiate level.

The MHS Yearbook Club creates the school's annual yearbook by capturing photographs, writing articles, designing layouts, and managing sales and distribution. Members collaborate to document significant events and create a visual record of the school year, gaining practical skills in photography, graphic design, journalism, marketing, and teamwork throughout the process. 

This club is run in affiliation with the American Health Education Center (AHEAC) and current medical students that are soon to be doctors. This club focuses on exposing students to a variety of careers in health care, understanding social determinants of health and focusing on ways to minimize these issues, networking with medical professionals through guest speakers and/or shadowing and getting involved in the community.
